Who We Are

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Business Energy Claim website and the services provided through it. By accessing or using this website, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using the website or submitting any information.

Business Energy Claim is a company registered in England and Wales. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a Data Controller. Business Energy Claim is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation.

Accepting These Terms

Using this website means you accept these Terms in full. If any part of them doesn’t sit right with you, please don’t continue using the site. We’d suggest keeping a copy of this page for your own records, as it may be updated from time to time.

Our Regulatory Position

Claims relating to undisclosed commission on business energy contracts may fall within scope of claims management regulation, or financial services complaint-handling rules, overseen by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), depending on how the claim is framed and pursued. If Business Energy Claim carries out regulated claims management activity, we will hold the appropriate FCA authorisation and will state our Firm Reference Number here: [FRN]. Where our role is limited to marketing and introducing enquiries to a solicitor firm, rather than managing the claim ourselves, that activity may sit outside FCA claims management regulation, but is still subject to general consumer protection, advertising standards, and data protection law. Submitting an enquiry through this site does not create a client relationship between you and Business Energy Claim, and does not create a solicitor-client relationship with any firm we introduce you to.

What This Website Does

This site lets you check, free of charge, whether your business’s energy contract shows signs of an undisclosed broker commission, and, where appropriate, puts you in touch with an independent solicitor firm to take the matter further.

Nothing on this site is legal advice. We don’t handle litigation, negotiate settlements, or represent you in any legal proceedings ourselves.

When you submit your details, we will:

Whether a claim can actually proceed, whether any firm agrees to act for you, and whether compensation is ultimately recovered are all decisions made by the solicitor firm handling your case, based on the specifics of it. We’re not in a position to promise any of those outcomes. We don’t guarantee:

You’re never obligated to proceed with a claim just because we’ve referred your enquiry onward.

Using This Website

Please use the site lawfully. Specifically, don’t:

We can suspend or block your access if we reasonably believe you’ve breached these Terms.

How We Refer Enquiries

Once submitted, your details may be reviewed to work out whether your case fits the kind of matter our panel firms take on.

Panel firms may include solicitors regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), other claims management businesses authorised by the FCA, or similarly regulated professional firms.

If we refer your enquiry, that firm may then contact you directly to discuss the details and decide whether they’re able to help. Any agreement for legal services is between you and them, not us, and any decision about taking on your case rests entirely with them.

We’re not responsible for the advice given, the way a case is handled, or the outcome achieved by any firm we introduce you to.

What Happens to Your Information

By submitting your details, you’re agreeing that we can use them to:

We only share your information with properly authorised firms, and we handle it in line with UK data protection law. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

There’s never a charge to you for using this site or submitting an enquiry. We may, however, receive a referral or introduction fee from the solicitor firm if your enquiry leads to them taking on your case. This doesn’t reduce what you’d recover, and it doesn’t influence the independence of any advice you’re given.

You’re always free to walk away from a referral. Nothing here obliges you to instruct a firm, and no firm is obliged to take you on.
